Guess what she did today?...... She GRADUATED!!! 👩🏽‍🎓 And who is she? The Founder of ALIVE and WORTHY! That's right! Today I walked across the stage and received my Masters of Science in Christian Counseling of Substance Abuse and Addictive Disorders with a 3.79 GPA. Yes I did! Let me tell you why I am soooo excited.
      It took me 6
☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽 years to get this degree. Not because of school because school always came easy to me. But in 2012, after I finished my Bachelors, I went straight into my Masters program to become a Counselor. Then life happened. 2013, I got extremely ill. Had 3 partial colectomies on my intestines in a matter of 2 years that took 2 years to heal (cut from breast bone to pelvic bone and wear the scar proudly to prove it). I was defeated, busted, disgusted with myself, felt worthless and was just ready to quit..... EVERYTHING. But something came over me that told me that I couldn't. End of 2016, I finally said enough is enough and went back to school.
Today I walked across that stage claiming done status and is feeling like a proud woman, wife, momma, entrepreneur, all of that. Sickness couldn't hold me down. Depression couldn't take me out. No matter how hard they tried, I did it and I am so proud of myself. The scriptures I stood on was Luke 1:45 and Psalms 37:4. But long story short, I believed I could and I did by His grace..... yay me! Lol. But if I did it, so can you. Next stop, my doctorate! 😎 Yep, that's it. Lol. Why? Because as long as I am ALIVE, I am WORTHY of anything I desire in my heart. 💜💜💜

Loving Me Is Not An Option

Everybody has this idea of what the most important thing in the world is to them. Some people will say money. Some people will say family. Some people will even say their career. All of that is great, but there is something even more important and greater than all of these. And that something is Self Love. Here me when I say this, ok (clears throat) .....................

SELF LOVE IS IMPORTANT!!!

It just is. Amazingly there are a number of people who would put other things far above this and would probably make it optional leaving it up to other people to do. But check this.... loving you should never be an option for you. It is a must. There is nobody on this Earth that can ever love you as good as you can. Plus, we teach people how to love us by the way that we do it. That is why I can't stress enough to JUST DO IT. Just love yourself.

Self love is defined as regard for one's own well-being and happiness. My personal belief is that many people just do not know how to love themselves. What this world needs is more people that are willing to love themselves more and in a much healthier way. This would more than likely cut down on crime, strife, stress, rising divorce rates, racial tensions, suicides and homicides too. Here are 4 things that we all should implement in our lives to help us to be on our way to loving ourselves:

1. Overcome negative beliefs that you've picked up over the years about yourself.

2. Avoid perfectionism because it is impossible.

3. Get rid of that negative filter/view of life and yourself.

4. NEVER call yourself names that do not represent love, peace and joy.

If you do these four things, you are well on your way to loving yourself. Again, loving you should never be an option. It is a must. Listen, we all have flaws. But we have to let that stuff go. We all have something that is not perfect and none of us will ever be perfect. We just have to love what we have with everything within us and push that negativity down. It is not healthy, nor is it cute. Confidence and faith in you is everything. So wear them both like it's nobodies business.  You deserve the love that you pour into everybody else. Give yourself that. If you are already doing these things, then bravo to you. Now share them with your friends and loved ones. 💜💜💜

Things Will Work In My Favor

This morning, as I watched a video of a young man singing these very words out of trying to pull himself out of a depressing place (a pit) because he woke up feeling like he wasn't doing his part to add value to this world, I sat and thought "How many of us are actually in this same place but suffering and crying out in silence?" How many of us have sat and cried because we felt, or feel, that we just didn't have what it takes to be a contributor to society? How many people have taken their own lives because they felt worthless, useless and that the world would be a better place without them? Well I just want to encourage you today, and everyday, that " THINGS WILL WORK IN YOUR FAVOR. YOU JUST GOTTA BELIEVE".
Life is everything that we make it. It is up when we are up. It is down when we are down. But we have to continue to believe that GOD is moving on our behalf and that He is working it out just for us at all times. You are never useless. You are never worthless. You are never not necessary. You add plenty value to this world and this world would not be a better place if you weren't in it. Whatever situation you may be facing at this moment, don't turn your back to it and run. Face it and tell it with power in your voice and heart that "THINGS WILL WORK IN MY FAVOR! I BELIEVE IT!" GOD bless this young man and every one who may be having a moment where we have to pull ourselves out of the pit that we've placed ourselves in. But please remember, it is a moment and moment's pass. Do not make permanent decisions based off of temporary feelings. This too shall pass. It has to. Have a GREAT and favor working day today. Just believe.

I can't?!?! YES YOU CAN!!!

"I can't" is a tiny phrase that packs more weight in it than five elephants trying to fit on a tiny bathroom scale. It's amazing how so many people use this phrase to describe their abilities and possibilities. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". So when people say I can't it leads me to believe that in that area of their life, that they don't believe or have faith that Christ can or will work through them. While I was praying about this, the Holy Spirit told me that:
"I can't is a limitation set by the enemy to stop you from:
1. Achieving your best you
2. Going to the next level and
3. Walking in abundance and overflow."
GOD never said any where in His Word that He has limited us and there were only certain things that we could do. He never said that there was a ceiling or a cap on us. So in the instances when an I can't tries to creep on in, we have to truly stand on "greater is He that is in me then he that is in this world" (1 John 4:4). I can't is a spirit that the enemy has conjured in an attempt to hinder us. The enemy's plan is to make this I can't spirit so strong that none of GOD'S children reach the max potential and greatness that He has placed within each and every one of us. His agenda is to continue to fill the graveyards with treasures.
Only we can change that. How do we do it? By changing the way we think, speak and act. When an I can't thought comes into our mind, we must "take every thought into captivity" (2 Corinthians 10:5). If an I can't so happens to come out of our mouth, we must remember that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit" (Proverbs 18:21). And also that "whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven" (Matthew 18:18, 16:19). So remember that you get the fruit of what you speak but you have the power to cast it down and bind it up if you choose. Key phrase "if you choose".........
The Holy Spirit also showed me this. That I can't usually come from us comparing ourselves to somebody else or just plain laziness.......... Oh, did I strike a nerve? Well good. Stop comparing yourself to other people. We were not created to be or do just like someone else. GOD created each and every one of us different to accommodate all the differing personalities in this world. So the way that you do it is just fine for the people you are supposed to reach. Do it your way and your way alone. Oh and the laziness...... Yeah. Laziness won't get you anywhere anytime soon. And if you don't come out of it, I can't is just for you. Better yet, the enemy doesn't have to even try with a lazy person. You do the work for him. That's just all I can say about that.
We have to get out of this I can't mindset. We must not allow this foul and demonic to consume us. We must reduce the punch that it packs by slowly but surely removing it from our vocabulary. From this day forward, constantly say in your Spirit, yes I can. Replace can't with can in your heart, in your mind and in your vocabulary and watch how your life, your confidence, your favor, your influence, watch how it all turns around, God is not the author of confusion and He's definitely not the author of I can't. Yes you can, yes you will and today should be the day that you must.
Unapologetic is me, L.
